The Coastal Walkway is an expansive sea-edge promenade stretching almost the entire length of Ngāmotu - New Plymouth. Ideal for walking, running, cycling, skating, or simply enjoying the view of the dramatic west coast, the walkway is perfect for all ages and abilities.

There is so much to see and do along the walkway – iconic bridges, sculptures, stone art, children’s playgrounds, historic sites, and impressive surf beaches. The Coastal Walkway is a must-do for anyone spending time in New Plymouth.  There are multiple access points, along the walkway to further explore the city, follow the Te Henui or Huatoki walkways. Access the many beaches from Ngamotu at one end to Bell Block at the other.

 

Lucy's Gully is a popular picnic spot in the foothills of Egmont National Park. From here you can access the Waimoku and Sefton Ridge tracks and the Patuha Trig or enjoy a picnic among the towering Californian redwoods in this picturesque spot easily accessed off Surf Highway 45, approximately 5km past Oakura.

Lake Mangamahoe is Taranaki’s premier Mountain Bike Park with trails for Beginners right through to Advanced. If you love your mountain biking then a day at Lake Mangamahoe is a must.
