Dam Dropping
Rising high on the eastern slopes of Mt Taranaki, the Waingongoro river winds its way through the bush and farmland before reaching the seas at Ohawe beach. Let Kaaitake Adventures take you on a three hour exciting, heart racing water sports experience. Also a magical 'enlightenment' journey around the Okahutiti Pa, an old Maori fortification - the birthplace of the prophet Tohu Kakahi.
White water sledging is a professional sport in Europe and gaining popularity around the world including New Zealand, the attraction of White Water Sledging is that you are in control, unlike rafting where the guide does ll the steering. The sledges are river purpose designed and may be plastic or foam. They are buoyant, comfortable, safe, highly manoeuvrable and can be steered into eddies. White water sledging is a serious sport and adventure activity. Strict water safety procedures are observed, however any trip is not without an element of risk. Kaitiaki adventures reserves the right to cancel any person or trip for whatsoever reason. Kaitiaki cannot be held responsible for personal injury, equipment loss or damage. Any person thought to be in an impaired state will be refused passage.
